REVIEW : WARRANT -- Louder Harder Faster (2017)

Warrant is a band that since its creation has sold millions of records worldwide, had two Top Ten Billboard albums, five Top 40 Billboard hits, five #1 MTV videos...and the list goes on and on!!! Pretty impressive! Warrant was one of the most popular and successful hard rock bands that came out of Hollywood, CA in the late 80's, early 90's. Albums like their debut or 'Cherry Pie" are classic!!

Their sound was always catchy as hell with huge choruses to sing-a-long for days and crunchy and heavy guitars. Back in 1992, the band released the pretty impressive and heavier "Dog Eat Dog" album and after that they released a couple of average records.

In 2006, Jamie St. James (Black N' Blue) took the place behind the mic and Warrant released a good overall opus with the title "Born Again". But the fans wanted more and bigger things from this band. So, Robert Mason (Lynch Mob) was the main shouter and in 2011  the solid "Rockaholic" saw the light of day and in my opinion that was the best record since their "Dog Eat Dog".

Nowadays the band is back with the brand new "Louder Harder Faster" album and to get a picture of how this new album sounds I'll say one word; it rocks!!! Ok, it's not a new "Cherry Pie", that was then this is now, but, for sure, this new opus rocked my world. It's powerful, it includes a bunch of some serious and ass-kickin' tunes in it and it's a mature record all the way. Mason vocals are top notch and in general the album is pure hard rock heaven from start to finish.

One of the album's best tunes is without any doubt the amazing "Only Broken Heart". Some Thin Lizzy-esque 'touches' here n' there and the more classic hard rock elements (just check the guitars) making this song a killer one! "Perfect" has this 'D.R.F.S.R" vibe in it and "U In My Life" is a sweet ballad in the vain of Warrant's latest effort. The band shows off its bluesier side on "Music Man" and in "New Rebellion" the boys delivers a fast-paced and louder rockin' song.

Warrant with "Louder Harder Faster" is here to stay with yet another solid and rocking album. An 11-track opus that the sure thing is that will please both old and new fans but also it will please every serious hard rock fan out there.

Rating : 8/10
